I'm happy that I have set up my first blog. I want to share it with people I know, people I'm about to know, and people I don't know. Welcome and enjoy!

Sculpturing time...

PUMPKIN, was the name I gave to a function used in the simulation of ion pump kinetics last week. I found it fun as it is just "the pumpkin season" according to the ads in front of the market.

Tempted by its nice outlook, and in memory of my matlab function, I decided to buy one. I'm not used to celebrate any Halloween before and with no intention of starting to celebrate it from now on (and from my survey it is not popular here in Germany as well). I just want to keep the pure and intuitive feeling I had ("wow! what a beautiful pumpkin") when seeing its loveliness. My theory is, when there can be time of happy memory, enjoy it, and when not, happy memory can be cooked.

Making movies are sculpturing time, so says those masters in art. I'm sure sculpturing on pumpkin to spend the time is never that elegant, but as long as I enjoyed it, who cares?

The character I carved was my recent (this is important. maybe two weeks later I'll buy another pumpkin...) favorite hero in animation, Kimura Kenshin (Kenshin-fans may find it offensive...as I'm not good at art yet...). Maybe in another post i'll tell his story but here i just want to show off my work, my pumpkin.

Finished version, from different angle and light.

Nice one. If you get the flesh out and cut holes in it, you can light it from the inside with candles. Looks nice in the dark!
